A giveaway so good, it’s frightening
The 28th edition of the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, BIFFF 2010, will be opening its doors to a bloodthirsty public from 8-20 April at Tour & Taxis this year – of course, Picturenose is in on the act, as you’d expect, with 50 pairs of film tickets to give away to our lucky readers. Read on, but be warned – here there be tygers…
READER GIVEAWAY CLOSED-READER GIVEAWAY CLOSED
As ever, the guest list befits a festival that is increasingly becoming a benchmark for only the very best horror, thriller, fantasy and science fiction films – the movies in competition will as usual be battling it out for the Gold and Silver Raven Awards, as well as a clutch of other prizes, before a jury that includes legendary director Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974, Poltergeist (1982)) as chairman, with other dignitaries in attendance such as actor Lance Henriksen and director and Harry Kümel (Malpertuis (1971)), both of whom will be made a ‘Knight of the Order of the Raven’ for their impressive careers, Luc Besson, actress Dee Wallace, and many more.
But it’s really all about the films, isn’t it? For this reviewer, one of the many joys associated with arriving in Brussels was the discovery of this incredible festival – for a long-term horror hound such as myself, it is a privilege to be able to attend an event in which the genre is treated as nothing less than an art form, as it absolutely should be, with more events going on than you’d normally find in three festivals.
So, what have we got for you? Well, all you have to do is take a look at the ten films below, each of which has a handy link to its description on the BIFFF 2010 website, www.bifff.net, where you can easily find out as much information as you need about the festival, in French, Dutch and English. Then, all you have to do is leave us a comment below, indicating your choice of film and your thoughts on Picturenose – only the most pithy, intelligent comments will qualify for a prize, so over to you!
Remember, there are five pairs of tickets for each film, and it is absolutely first-come first-served, so don’t dally!

Wouldn’t want to miss the new movie from Russell Mulcahy, the man who brought us Razorback (1984) and Highlander (1986)!
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreetings,

Would love to see Boll’s Rampage. And thanks again for sending me free tickets last year
Picturenose is way hotter than Cleopatrasnose!
Dear James,
I tried to win tickets last year but, unfortunately, I was too late.
Let’s hope I’m in time this time!
My choice? Rampage! Seems to be nice mix of genres on your site!
Greetings!
Fab
I would like tickets for 5150 Rue des Ormes please – Picturenose is the best site to win BIFFF tickets.
Hello,
5150 Rue des Ormes is my choice.
Picturenose is a great site! Thanks.
Hello,
May I have tickets for Evil – In the Time of Heroes? I will be very grateful
Thank you very much.
Summer Wars, please. I won tickets once for the single Japanime movie of the festival. The ambiance was terrific, especially when the bad guy/hero in the movie came crashing onto the street and the whole theatre started cheering: “Le camion…le camion!” (here comes the big truck). Oh, and by the way, I like dogs. Hope other Picturenose fans like them too.
So, to reply all at once, then:
TastedLikeChicken, Alex, Joelle, Fab and Jan, you are all winners!
All you have to do now is send an email to james@picturenose.com with your address, and the tickets will be on their way to you pronto. Steve, yours are already on their way, as you sent me an email. Thanks very much!
